Offsite Modular Buildings

Suretank offers a complete range of prefabricated and modular designs as an alternative to the traditional on-site building structures for housing power, data, communication and fuel delivery equipment.

IT Modules

Modules in this sector can comprise of fully self-contained micro/edge data centres with integrated power distribution and critical power back up.

Alternatively, the IT module configuration can be separated into a dedicated IT space with power distribution and critical back-up located in separate modules.

Modules are supplied with all ancillary services including Cooling, Fire Detection/Suppression, Access Control, IP CCTV. IT Racks can be installed offsite or, alternatively, after module installation depending on customer preference.

When space on site is limited, multiple modules can be installed on elevated gantry systems.

All buildings are CE certified according to EN1090 for structural integrity and relevant Building Regulations and Electrical Standards.

MV & LV Switchgear Modules

Installing switchgear panels into a prefabricated modular building offsite has become the chosen method of deployment across all industries.

The advantage of this is that the switchgear, which is manufactured and shipped in multiple sections, can be fully installed, re-joined and tested offsite in a controlled environment.

Buildings of this type are supplied in sizes up to 21m long x 5m wide in a single section.

Each building is designed to the specific projects requirements and include equipment such as HVAC, Passive Fire Protection up to 120 minutes, Fires Suppression and BMS Systems.

All buildings are CE certified according to EN1090 for structural integrity and relevant Building Regulations and Electrical Standards.

Substation Modules

Substation Modules are designed to incorporate all of the items of the power distribution system in one building.

Typically this includes MV Switchgear, MV-LV Transformer, Main LV Switchgear, MCCs, UPS Systems and Sub-Distribution boards.

This type of module is suitable for all industries from large Data Centre and Semiconductor sites to one-off substations for renewable energy projects.

Buildings of this type are supplied in sizes up to 21m long x 9m wide and 3 storeys’ high.

Each building is designed to specific project requirements and include equipment such as HVAC, Passive Fire Protection up to 120 minutes, Fires Suppression and BMS Systems.

All buildings are CE certified according to EN1090 for structural integrity and relevant Building Regulations and Electrical Standards.

Mechanical Modules

Modular buildings for Water Treatment Equipment, Pump-sets, Process Vessels and Pipework are increasingly being specified by projects designers to streamline schedules and carry out as much work as possible in an offsite controlled environment.

These types of modular building can be designed and built in any configuration to meet the requirements of the equipment to be installed and the project requirements. Some particular requirements include bunded and drained floors, fire protection, trace heating and leak detection.

Suretank have supplied mechanical modules to customers in the Life Sciences, Data Centre and material processing industries.

Battery Modules

Battery modules are typically used for the segregated storage of batteries for associated UPS Systems, for use in the critical power industry.

Battery modules can either be stand alone modules or integrated into a substation module. Segregating the batteries allows for precision cooling and ventilation in a separate zone to the rest of the equipment, which may have a higher ambient temperature tolerance.

Battery modules are also becoming popular as back-up power supplies for the offshore marine and construction industries to reduce the reliance on diesel generation.

In both applications Suretank can design and build battery modules to the client’s exact project requirements.
